The Familiar Obscured / Pazīstamais. Nezināms.

Almost every day, the familiar begins to shift — subtly, yet irrevocably. My surroundings appear almost frozen, yet beneath the surface something is changing.

This photo project emerges from a state of physical vulnerability and from the fear of losing consciousness, where control, perception, and certainty begin to dissolve. Rather than depicting this experience directly, I return to the landscape because its stillness allows the instability of the body to become visible. I observe an internal condition shaped by fragility and a shifting sense of perception.

The photographs hold a tension between recognition and a loss of clarity, between the desire for control and the fear of losing it. Using multi-layered photography and hand-applied monoprint layers, I work with photography as a medium in which instability can accumulate, interrupt, and remain unresolved.

Rather than offering answers, the project sustains uncertainty and reflects a fragile threshold between presence and disappearance, the visible world and the invisible pressure it holds.

Gandrīz ik dienu es sastopos ar situācijām, kurās ierastā lietu kārtība un pazīstamais mainās — šķietami nemanāmi, tomēr neatgriezeniski.

Fotoprojekts “Pazīstamais. Nezināms.” izriet no fiziskas ievainojamības stāvokļa un neziņas, kas saistīta ar nenovēršamām fiziskām pārmaiņām laikam ejot, kā arī ar trauksmainiem notikumiem visapkārt. Es atgriežos pie ainavas, jo tās klusums ļauj ķermeņa nestabilitātei kļūt redzamai. Es vēroju, kā līdzšinējā noteiktība sāk izgaist.

Fotogrāfijas balansē starp atpazīšanu un skaidrības zudumu. Izmantojot daudzslāņainu fotogrāfiju un ar roku veidotus krāsu novilkumus, es strādāju ar fotogrāfiju kā mediju, kurā nestabilitāte var uzkrāties, atspoguļoties un palikt neatrisināta.

Tā vietā, lai piedāvātu atbildes, projekts uztur nenoteiktību, atspoguļojot trauslo robežstāvokli starp kontroli un samierināšanos, redzamo pasauli un neredzamo spiedienu, ko tā sevī nes.
