The Familiar Obscured / Pazīstamais. Nezināms.

Almost every day, the familiar begins to shift — subtly, yet irreversibly. My surroundings appear almost frozen, yet beneath the surface something is changing.

The project emerges from my personal experience of physical vulnerability and from the uncertainty of living in a world that is constantly changing. Places where I once looked for calm no longer feel untouched by uncertainty.

The photographs hold a tension between recognition and a loss of clarity, between the desire for control and the possibility of losing it. Using multi-layered photography and hand-applied monoprint layers, I work with photography as a medium in which instability can accumulate and remain unresolved.

The project doesn’t offer answers. It reflects a fragile threshold between presence and disappearance.

Gandrīz ik dienu es sastopos ar situācijām, kurās ierastā lietu kārtība un pazīstamais mainās — šķietami nemanāmi, tomēr neatgriezeniski.

Projekts izriet no manas fiziskās ievainojamības pieredzes un neziņas, kas rodas, dzīvojot ķermenī un pasaulē, kas nepārtraukti mainās — nenovēršami un ārpus manas kontroles. Tā vietā, lai šo pieredzi attēlotu tieši, es atgriežos pie ainavas, jo tās šķietamais miers ļauj kļūt redzamai ķermeņa nestabilitātei.

Fotogrāfijas balansē starp atpazīšanu un skaidrības zudumu. Izmantojot daudzslāņainu fotogrāfiju un ar roku veidotus krāsu novilkumus, es strādāju ar fotogrāfiju kā mediju, kurā nestabilitāte var uzkrāties, atspoguļoties un palikt neatrisināta.

Tā vietā, lai piedāvātu atbildes, projekts uztur nenoteiktību, atspoguļojot trauslo robežstāvokli starp kontroli un samierināšanos, redzamo pasauli un neredzamo spiedienu, ko tā sevī nes.
